Computer hardware – Nvidia 57X and 58X

We rave about the GF11X, which is located under the steam-cooled copper and aluminum block of the GeForce GTX58X and GTX57X. It is the best piece by Nvidias Fermi (GF100), in which the unwanted heat (largely) is dissipated and the racket is almost completely silenced. Other tweaks to the GF11X include the ability to filter the FP16 pixels twice per cycle, unlike the GF 100, and it has a brand new Z-culling / rejection algorithm for superior video game rendering. The transistors that make up the very complex GTX58X and 57X GPUs are also significantly less leaky than those of the GF100. Like Nvidia's current DX11 graphics cards, this pair supports Nvidia surround multi-display technology and 3D vision (SLI mandatory for both), as well as GPU processing based on PhysX, SLI and CUDA.

Fermi 2. 0 numbers

The GF11X in Nvidia's reference GeForce GTX58X contains a complete addition with 16 activated sms, which enables 512 CUDA processors, 64 texture units and 48 ROPs. The GeForce GTX57X uses the same GF11X, but with 15 active sms for 480 CUDA processors, 60 texture units and 40 ROPs. The RAM bandwidth of the GTX58X is 192.4 GBit / s compared to the 152 GBit / s of the GTX57X. The former owes its larger specification to the 384-bit bus and the faster 1536 MB GDDR5 image memory, which is clocked at 1002 MHz. The GTX57X's 1280 MB image memory runs on a 320-bit bus and is clocked at 950 MHz. The GTX58X and 57X reference models offer 772 MHz and 732 MHz processor cycles, respectively, but as you can see, there is still room for development. The GTX58X is currently the fastest graphics card with a single GPU that a person can buy. Despite a somewhat slower RAM subsystem, the GTX57X achieves the same performance as the GTX 480, but is significantly cheaper. Not many non-reference GTX58X and -57X were available at the time, but those we could put our fingers on did very well. Read on to see if any of these graphic gorillas meet your needs.

How did we test?

Our screening computer consists of a 3.33 gigahertz Intel processor i7-980X (Extreme Edition), Gigabyte X58, 6 Gigs Patriot Sector 7, a 128 Gig Patriot Zephyr drive and an Antec TruePower Quattro 1200- Power adapter. Windows 7 64-bit is running on the computer. We tested the raw tessellation capabilities of the cards with Unigine Heaven. synthetic gaming skills with the extreme setting of 3DMark 11; and real DirectX 9 / 10.1 / 11 gaming functions with Left 4 Dead 2, Just Cause 2 and Aliens versus Predator. We were using the latest Nvidia drivers at the time of this article, ForceWare version 263.09.

Evga GeForce GTX57X "Supercycled"

At first glance, Evga's GeForce GTX57X Supercycled doesn't seem to be a big competitor, and like the GTX58X AMP! From Zotac, the PCB design and the refrigerator are based on the reference style from Nvidia. However, that does not hold it back; The standard GTX57X is cool, noiseless and a great performer. Evga messed around a bit in terms of processor and RAM cycles, increasing them to 797 MHz and 975 MHz, respectively. As with the original cards, the backplane contains two DVI connectors and a mini HDMI connector. A few SLI connectors and two 6-pin PCIE power connectors can be exposed on the top edge of the card. Evga packages the GTX57X Supercycled with a driver CD, an Evga Precision Overcycling application, a mini HDMI to HDMI adapter, a DVIto-VGA adapter and some 6-pin PCIE power supplies. It even gives you 24/7 technical support from Evga and a limited lifetime warranty. In the benchmarks, the 65 MHz processor push from Evga is sufficient to achieve substantial growth on the reference card and also the GTX57X with lower clock from M.S.I. Evga's Supercycled 57X is a good buy for gaming lovers.

M.S.I N57XGTX TwinFrozer 2

MSI was able to supply us with its TwinFrozer 2 Edition of the GTX57X, which, as far as we know, uses Nvidia's reference board, but MSI saddled it with a fantastic, five heatpipe heat sink made of nickel-plated copper and aluminum, which was provided with an appealing protection made of Gunmetal plate matt aluminum. There is a pair of 80mm fans and a flat heat sink for the plunger and other parts. M.S.I. only used fixed capacitors for this product. According to M.S.I, the innovative cooling device is responsible for a noise reduction of 20 degrees Celsius and 8.4 dB compared to the reference GTX57X. From our place, this card runs as peacefully as any enthusiast card we examined. M. S. I also set the processor and RAM cycles to 786 MHz and 1050 MHz, respectively. The scope of delivery includes a driver CD, a mini HDMI adapter, a DVI to VGA adapter and two PCIE power supplies. With the integrated M.S.I Afterburner application, you can increase the processor and RAM cycles even further. The three-year guarantee is a good incentive. Although Evga and Palit's heavily overstressed GTX57X in 3DMark 11 compared to M.S.I. slightly exceeded, they fell on the N57XGTX TwinFrozer 2 in aliens versus predator at every resolution. The GTX57X from M.S.I offers you the resources to destroy the opposition with its powerful cooling unit and the overcycling program.

Palit GeForce GTX57X Sonic Platinum

We tested a variety of Palit Sonic Platinum cards and were therefore very excited about the GeForce GTX57X Sonic Platinum. Palit has not failed. Of all the cards in this summary, Palit was the only one with a revised board. Although a PCB revision often indicates a price cut, Palit seems to have been at least somewhat inspired by the drive to pump more power to the GF110. There are 6-pin and 8-pin PCIE power connectors on the top of the card, like the GTX58X. The cooler in the GTX57X Sonic Platinum is really the same as that of M.S.I. comparable, but there is a less exposed plastic cover on it. We are equally delighted that Palit found the integration of full-size DisplayPort and HDMI connections to be suitable. Palit pushed the processor cycle higher than any Evga and M.S.I. to 800 MHz. The RAM cycle was also increased to 1,000 MHz. Palit included a driver CD, a DVI to VGA adapter, and a PCIE power supply. In the benchmarks, Palit outperformed the rest of the GTX57X in our collection of synthetic benchmarks, including 3DMark 11 and Unigine Heaven. The real results were very similar, but Palit's map only detached itself from the crowd in Just Cause 2 at 2560 x 1600. Although the price is similar to Evga's, we believe that overcyclers with this card will do more for their money.

Sparkle Caliber GTX58X

Sparkle is quite proud of its attitude towards Nvidia's GeForce GTX58X, and rightly so. The GeForce GTX58X caliber is one of the most formidable cards we've ever stood on. The Accelero Xtreme cooling unit, which is equipped with three PWM fans and is strapped to the GTX58X reference board, is completely three slots wide, and the copper heat pipe / aluminum slat extends one centimeter beyond the board and one centimeter above. Notably, Sparkle claims that the cooler can successfully cool down to 240 watts, but the reference GTX58X is a 244-watt graphics card. Despite the difference, we didn't notice any performance issues, and the map ran much quieter for our preferences. If you want to make some of them SLI-compliant, use flexible connectors and a motherboard with widely divided PCIE slots. Sparkle boosted the processor and RAM cycles to 810 MHz and 1008 MHz, respectively. The included add-ons include a driver CD, an 8-pin PCIE power supply, a DVI to VGA adapter and an HDMI cable. As you can imagine, the caliber GTX58X many times outperformed the reference 58X and was only surpassed by the higher clocked Zotac GTX58X AMP! Map. With such an impressive cooling device, we would be amazed if you couldn't trigger the cycles even more, which could justify the similarly high cost of this card.

Zotac GeForce GTX58X AMP!

With the GeForce GTX58X AMP !, Zotac argues that much can be achieved with the reference board from Nvidia and the original cooling unit. Zotacs correct: This card does not seem to be very much, but it was able to increase the processor and RAM cycles further than Sparkle to 815 MHz and 1025 MHz. All other features, with the exception of the fire breather, correspond to those of the reference model, e.g. For example, the two DVI connectors and the mini HDMI connector on the backplane, as well as the 6-pin and 8-pin PCIE power connectors on the top of the card. Accessories include 6-pin and 8-pin PCIE power supplies, a mini HDMI to HDMI adapter and a DVI to VGA adapter. The 58X AMP! Also included with Prince Of Persia: The Forgotten Sands and the Zotac Boost Premium program package, which consists of the Cooliris browser plug-in, XBMC, Kylo browser for HTPCs and CUDA-accelerated demonstrations by vReveal and Nero Vision Xtra. In the benchmarks, the Zotac card pushed and pushed to the top of the stack thanks to better processor and RAM cycles. Zotac's remarkable overcycle and the included extras make it a well-deserved choice for game fanatics, although it is much more expensive than the standard card.

Nvidia & # 39; s Enthusiast Selection

After doing some run over reference works and even a few overhauls from the PCB, we can safely say that the graphics cards built on the GF110 are a real treat for gamers. There is a wide variety of prices here, too, so any big gambling addict should be able to find something that works for their price. The GTX58X and 57X won't make you better in games, but you simply can't lose none of them.
